Wow
holidays really do fly by. It's been a quick yet slightly annoying
couple of weeks *sigh*.. my computer hasn't been the same ever since
I almost lost Outbreak before it was released and my full day
adventure of trying to retrieve it. Also the shop I volunteer at (Job
Centre thing, the dole) which is the only way I can really pay for my
internet access these days so I can't really risk not going just for
the sake of the site, had me working until December 24th (though I
had to skip that day as my only lift to my mam's for the weekend had
to leave before 11am), and I've basically done more or less nothing
for the last week. I did in fact try to do Virtual Fairytale on my
mam's computer but that didn't go too well, it's still the season but
sadly I can only use that excuse for delaying and lazing around in my
only week off work for so long.
Here's to the new year, aka 2006.. lets hope we have better luck, surely it can't be as bad as 2005 for episode releases. I can't keep delaying Slayer X forever, and Season Five's just too good to be really wasted on well time wasting. The first episode of 2006 will be Responsibility, check out the schedule for what order the rest of the episode releases will be.

The
new design has been online for ten days, and so far there's been no
bad feedback about it. One file hadn't been uploaded however, but I
fixed that last Thursday and the background was a bit squarish in
places on brighter monitors (mine's very dark). This is a quick
update to let you know what's happening, check the Episodes In
Progress box below to see how the episodes are getting on. Sorry I
totally forgot about the box when I did have something I could of put
in it, I will update it every 2/3 days as promised from here on out.
Anyway what's happening is Season Five has had episodes swapped around to give a few episodes more time for development, and ones that are good to go are a little sooner in the season. What's been moved around the most is the Xmas Special: Virtual Fairytale. I wanted it ready before Christmas, which it should be but I didn't want the FV timeline to skip two months after Outbreak, especially when Responsibility follows straight after. As there's no real important things happening in it, it will still be based after episode 7, but it will be released early for Christmas.. I just have to make sure there's nothing in it that'll spoil Responsibility to the untitled Episode 7. I can't let it go further than that as episode 8: Dead or Alive would be ruined a little in the special, and the special would be ruined too, I'd have to change it a lot.
Oh btw, if you would like to comment on the new version, or find something wrong with it etc.. post about it here.

Hey
everyone, it's Fifth Voyager's fifth birthday today and we're
celebrating in style. As you can see we have a brand new version, but
not just that, all of the menus and sections have been cleaned up to
make the site a little more user friendly. Who says you need to know
flash or Javascript to keep a site running.. though I do need to know
php if I want a decent forum ^_^ Speaking of the forum will have a
new look soon and lots of new features as well. I will probably work
on it during this week, during that time it'll be disabled
temporarily from use.

Phew,
Outbreak took way longer than I thought to complete - then again so
did the defraging I had to put my hard drive through lol. My computer
is still a wreck, it has trouble starting up. I will be working on
Facing Fears next.. fingers crossed for me ^_^

Outbreak
has been delayed due to a computer issue. My scan disk decided to
"truncate" the episode itself, and for a while it all
seemed completely lost. After over a day's work I was able to
retrieve it all. Work will continue once my computer is fixed up,
it's a bit of a state at the moment thanks to too many downloads of
programs that I tried to fix the ep with. I must of had about thirty
viruses blocked during that little adventure. Hey it was all worth
it, there was no way I was going to re-write an episode that's been
worked on for less than two months.. at least not so soon after The
Rhythm *shudder* Hmm I wonder if the same program could bring back
the original Rhythm.. not that it matters now.

Ok
everyone line up.. yes come on line up, this is the queue for
hitting Marill over the head with some extremely heavy and hopefully
killing her in the process. Ok who's first???
I do believe "Outbreak" is gone.. and I mean GONE. I was shutting down as I was pratically falling asleep at the keyboard. It was a good way through, and a good size too and I was pretty proud of 90% of it (the second off last scene could of been better but that was IT). Anyway I shut down, and as my moniter is in a seperate wall socket and I prefer it to be totally powered off (something I will never do again so noted) I went to switch it off by the plug.. only the entire computer went off.. I switched the wrong one off didn't I? All programs were shut off, it was nearly done shutting down.
It's not a big deal, I've switched the computer off doing restarts and b4 it shut down b4. I restart just to get the scan over with. While I tidy up I turn back to see what percentage it's up to and it has all this other stuff. Most of it was temp files to do with Trillion, I had never seen the word "truncated" before in my life but it was doing something to them. Quite frankly I couldn't care less until I saw the file "fv5-03" with an extension I didn't recognise, it wasn't htm. Luckily I hadn't panicked then.. Also the website file was messed with too, the one that Web Express uses to link the whole site together.. easily replaceable.
Computer was loaded, I checked the file size for Outbreak just in case.. it was a fairly decent size for an ep that was unfinished - 192kb. Loaded it up anyway and was greeted by crap on a white background.
It looked to me like the Web Express file and the episode got swapped, but of course that Web Express file was easily replaced as always if something happens. If anyone can make any sense of this or can help me. Of course if I don't get this episode back you're looking at a long long haitus, cos I'll probably headbutt the wall so much I'll end up in a coma. I've spent TOO LONG on this episode to lose it now.. I can't do another re-write The Rhythm was worse off mostly as it took too damn long, and there's no way in hell I'll want to do it this soon.
Now I'll be off finding something sharp.. no headbutting is nicer only my dad might complain about the noise. Ok silently cry.. good night all.

November 2005
Ok
this has got to be a joke surely? It's November, it can't be *cries
for five minutes*. It's really hard to believe that the site's fifth
birthday is only three weeks away, it wasn't that long ago since it
was my birthday in June, and it doesn't feel like it's been over a
year since I started my work experience last September and went to
visit my sis for a week during it. Bare with me here.. If you don't
want to read me really just explaining to you why I'm surprised that
it's November and why Outbreak is late (ok when am I ever early or on
time, really?), just skip to the last two paragraph (*looks down*
aah, I written a lot more than I thought, sorry in advance).
I release the first half of Death Corridor over two weeks after I return from holiday in July. During that two week holiday I wrote a lot of Alternate Scorpion (not relevant but thought I'd mention it), enough of Death Corridor to get me started when I did get back, the following episode's beginning scenes, some of Responsibility, sorted out Mind Games, wrote half of of Bad Coffee Week, and did some minor work on Season Five. After that the two weeks I spent doing Death Corridor I was also attempting to sort out The Rhythm's problems and completing Deck Thirteen. Granted, that's pretty normal considering I seemed to be tired out from the holiday return journey.
That took most of August and all of September, for a week or so I did lose the will to do anything after some a**hole came close to closing this site down over a few 30 second song samples. The main problem was that it's really hard to re-do an episode you lost the spark of during it's original writing a year previously. I admit on the last day or two in September it came rushing back and it was done, and I did enjoy it.. which I only ever did during the first file. It's probably noticeable.
During that I did try to do Death Corridor's second half as at the time The Rhythm seemed a lost cause. After that I spent a few days working on Bad Coffee Week, and that was done pretty quick compared to recent episodes. That was on the 11th October.. I remember as it was the week that I had a friend/FV reader over and I kept bugging him about what to do with the Doctor's subplot ^_^ After that it's all a blur, well except the day after when I met one of the FV "actresses" ^_^ That was five weeks ago, I honestly don't know what's going on with the time.
I know I spent a few days, during the Bad Coffee Week writers block (those seem to be a requirement for each episode now ¬_¬) I started working on the forums. Plus spent an entire day trying to fix a hack on it, I think a week or two later. See I'm not sure anymore. I seriously thought the episode Outbreak would do it for me, I loved it, just like Death Corridor though, but more and I had faith in it.. however I continuously got writers block that was pretty serious. I did try to spend that time doing other work, like making the new design for the site for it's birthday (see here for details). I still honestly don't know where the time has gone. The writers block wasn't that bad.
I was cured of it temporarily near Halloween, as I scheduled a release date for Outbreak then but as you can see that didn't work out. This time I made it.. but it's been three months since a new episode properly appeared in Season Five, that's an utter disgrace. It's the same length as the Season Four break between Closing of the Eyes and Burnt out and Falling, and those episodes you can see why they took so long.. they're record breakers in length, Outbreak's a pretty average size. Now I'm left with a big list of episodes I want doing before the site birthday so I can get one certain episode released on that day, but considering my track record this year it seems unlikely.
You know how you can help. Yep here it comes.. I hate doing this, trust me I do. All of Season Five and most of B4FV Season Three have had no real feedback, please please if you have read any don't hesitate to go to Episode Discussion and well discuss, or maybe if you like it click that button at the end of the ep concerned. I remember back in Season One days, I was losing interest in FV and one reader appeared out of nowhere and left feedback, that got me back into it.
I do hate doing this, but I know there's readers still here (and again thank you for your everlasting patience) and it's hard for writers to continue if no-one tells them they're doing better, worse, etc.. For all I know you guys hate Season Five and B4FV Season Three and preferred the series' style before these seasons, that means I'm wasting my time *sad face* doesn't it? If you don't tell me, I can't improve and you will continue getting material you hate/dislike. Though if you think these series rival Season Four and Three (both of which most of you seemed to prefer), or are much better, then remember it really boosts the spirits of the writer if you tell them that. You see, writers are nothing without great readers like you guys. So again please, send any feedback you can. You can start by letting me know what you think of Outbreak here or here ^_^. Note I did write this before somebody voted for In The Eye and another reader says it's very good so far (yey ^_^), whoever voted thank you, that did help cheer me up on a bad day.

2005
Hi
guys. I just thought I'd update you on what's going on.
Right now I keep getting writers block, but rest assured Outbreak is about half way through. Everytime it wears off I tend to write a lot. This doesn't mean I haven't been busy at all.
As you know the site's birthday is less than a month away, and a new design usually appears on that day. This year the new forum design with extra features should appear along with it. To be honest the forum hasn't been touched in weeks, but I have been working hard on lots of different designs for the site.
I finally have a design worth using after about four or five attempts, hurray. The first few didn't last long anyway, there was really only one that stuck around for a week or two. That one looked great in 800 by 600, but looked a bit plain and too spaced out for 1024 by 768. The new one may be a bit cramped for 800 by 600, I know I can never win.. but it's a lot better than a lot of my latest designs.. like the current one for example.
Also everything's been cleaned up, the entire site is (or was from where I am lol) a bit cluttered up, and it's difficult to get where you want to be. The menu system is different, there's just one real menu now instead of four, and I've got a new Episode Archive in the works.
Oh and the splash page has been disposed of, from now on when you go to fifthvoyager.net it'll take u straight to the main area.
Pro's
-
It's tidier and more organised
-
The home page isn't a big cluttered mess anymore, the interactive
features are gone, the now showing area is more informative, a more
up to date disclaimer is there, and I have changed the welcome
message at long last.
-
The webrings are no longer in your face.. they're on the first page
technically so the yahoogroups thing shouldn't threaten to remove me
from their list like last time.
-
Pretty banner lol ^_^
-
Space background, yey
-
No splash page to put off impatient people ^_^
Con's
-
Too cramped in 800 by 600: u have to scroll down to see the whole
menu.. you'll see why that's a problem. Well it's not an important
one, I am a bit fussy so it may be just me being over paranoid.
-
Top banner may have less colour than the original and look like it's
less fancy, but it's a bigger file size. It'll still load at an ok
speed on 56k though. It's 98.1kb if you're wondering
-
I made the text size bigger and had to change the font to make the
home page different, I know I'm not used to this big text lol. This
is an opinional con though, some people will probably think this is a
big relief.
-
Unlike all of the versions before it (excluding the first few
2000/2001 versions) there is no real colour scheme. It's main colour
is black, I haven't decided on link colours yet. They'll probably
remain blue or change to purple.
-
Since there's no splash page, the 56kers might get impatient during
loading as soon as they get there (well some, dont' take offense I'm
one too). Yes I'm not sure whether splash pages are good or bad LOL.
-
Some might get annoyed with the scroll bars, that's all I'll say.

Ok
today I added a new User Involvement poll to the site, and tested it.
I'm so glad I did as for some reason my forms email forward address isn't forwading all the form info to me (yet it managed to send a test email). I tested a form with the yahoo account it forwards to and it works fine.
It's just one thing after another, I want to write Outbreak
Update
Please
if you've used any of the other interactive features over the last
two months (we're not sure when it started acting up as I've recieved
an odd few things over the months, less than we usually get) please
re-send. I apologise for any inconvenience, this was a reliable
service so I don't understand why this has happened.. the form method
has worked for years with my re-directing fifthvoyager.net addresses
until now. And yes everything should be working again now.

October 2005
Ok
enough's enough, why is this year going so fast? I'm telling you,
something's wrong here
Ok enough complaining, at least for now, I'll dive right into the news. I've finally come to my senses regarding B4FV Season Three's episode listing. I did want to add extra episodes to make up for the previous season, which was technically just 21 episodes after I moved it's special into this season, but it's a little too much. I ended up adding too many extra slots, and it's been bugging me a while. Now I've sorted it, also as the episode "Facing Fears" and it's saga is more ready to be written than "Home Sweet Holodeck" is, I've had a little switch around. Of course I didn't want to delay Mind Games until after the saga, so that's been put foward. The rest of the season looks like this:
Special:
Mind Games
3.16
Facing Fears
3.16
Phase in Time
3.17
Fantastical
3.18
End of the Day
3.19
Home Sweet Holodeck
3.20
Decade
3.21
Loved Up
3.22
Worse Case Scenario 1: Bewitched and Bothered
3.23
Alternate Scorpion
Fifth
Voyager IV: Dimension Rewritten
I do want to make the Facing Fears - End of the Day saga to be a little like the Resolutions one, where it was just the prequels until the saga finished.. and I tried to release every week, I think I managed it just, I'll have to double check lol. But because it's been a while since a new Season Five ep and I want the movie ready for December, around the site's birthday, I have a bit of a dilemma.
Next up still is Outbreak, followed by Mind Games. Then I'm afraid it's Facing Fears, with it's cliffhanger, another Season Five to keep the main series fans going, then the rest of the saga. After that we'll see. It really depends if I can stop moping around about two jobs I didn't get, if I can stop being in the mood for editing the forums and lose the will to do anything when something mucks up (damn viewtopic file is a grouchy b**ch), and if every day doesn't zoom by. Lots of if's there, ey.

Slowly
but surely I'm getting into the swing of things again.. Bad Coffee
Week is finished and online. Next up is Outbreak. I apologise for
this episode being late (woah deja vu) but I've had a few problems
with starting the new forum design I've been doing, there are other
reasons but I don't want to waste more of your time ^_^ Hopefully
after Outbreak I can start working on two episodes at the same time
for weekly updates, I don't want to dive in too fast after all.

September 2005
I
hope after over a year at least one of you guys actually like The
Rhythm, cos the way I see it really wasn't worth it, though I did
start having fun with the finishing touches (re-writing Can't Fight
The Nightlife, Thirteen and Fight You's performances) ^_^ I did end
up having to dump The Rhythm in favour of typing up most of Death
Corridor from three different notebooks, just so I could get
something done. I apologise everyone, there's really no realistic way
to make it up to you. I never thought that 2004's slowness and lack
of episode releases could be beat, but 2005 is doing just that.
Thanks to everyone who's been patient, I hope that the upcoming
episodes I've been itching to write will make up for it just a little bit.
Anyway now that The Rhythm is out of the way, I am hoping to get one new episode up by the end of the week. I've been working on it briefly on and off since July in between The Rhythm, Death Corridor.. you get the idea ^_^ Once that's done, and maybe the next Season Five episode which is the episode Outbreak, I plan to send a mass email to all forum users to keep them up to date on what's happening on all of the sites, and inform them on what's going to happen. If you're interested in recieving this email which will have: information about the new forums, future episodes information/spoilers, information on the latest interactive features on the site, a chance to send me feedback on the site's themselves, Slayer X exclusive information, and a Dimension 5.2 update. Again if you're interested all you have to do is register to the forums here. All you need is a username, a valid email address and a password of your choice and your set. If you want to put a link to a site in your signature, please refrain for now.. I've been getting a lot of spam lately (yes I know I'm just asking for more here ^_^) and this is the only way I'll be able to tell the difference. Remember we're quite a friendly forum, it's not just limited to FV.. you can post there, we wont bite. Anyway that is all, you know my track record by now, the mass email will probably be a while ~_^
Also don't forget that there's only two months to go until FV Awards 2005's voting closes.. I haven't had any results for two categories, and yes I'm panicking a little. One I can live with, it was a crappy idea for one, but there's an important(ish) one. Please send in your votes if you haven't already. The categories that have been left alone are: Season Premiere (no need to wait there, Rhythm is crap lol ^_^) and Best Monkey Island Parody (that's the crap one). Only one person has voted in: Movie, Special, Finale, Season, Time Episode, FVDA, Genre, Best and Worst Episode, and Double. Remember the voting you did in the nomination round DOES NOT count towards the main and final round, votes were reset to make it fair. You've got two months left.. please vote. Yes a similar plea will appear in that email too.

September 2005
Ok
I'll try to be brief. On Monday I had a really big scare, I had an
email informing me that I risked the site being closed because of
some content. Lets just say I was freaked, pretty upset about it and
a little angry because there was absolutely no warning. As far as I'm
concerned the content wasn't worth contacting my hosts, and my hosts
threatening closure especially since I didn't get any warnings, and
the complaint sent to my hosts said I had been warned on numerous
occasions (bull). I haven't been really in the mood to write much
since. Yeah I did promise to update on Sunday but I had a little
upload trouble and some other little things that distracted me from
finishing some of the last scenes. Right now there's a few scenes
where there's just singing in, and scenes that are partly done just
their song isn't written out yet, left to do. You see when I was in
the writing mood, I couldn't get into the musical spirit. I'll have a
go tonight and we'll see how it goes from there.
Regarding Death Corridor, I checked through that and I'm really close to finishing it. Most of it is typed up, most of the rest of it is awaiting to be and there's a few scenes to write. When I get The Rhythm out of the way I'll continue with that straight away.

September 2005
Wow,
time really has flew by in August. For the past couple of weeks,
I've been working on The Rhythm (again!), and two brand new episodes.
The two brand new episodes have been neglected because of The Rhythm
(which is now a year old), considering that I love these two episodes
I think The Rhythm needs to be punished lol. Seriously though, some
songs lyrics are missing, some songs were just pointless and the plot
was still dragged out after removing them. It has less of the songs
in the unreleased parts of the episode: like I said some songs were
missing, but not important, others were just not important. To the
point I hope you check out the new and improved The Rhythm. The
following two parts will appear tomorrow or your money back.. I think
another cup of coffee is in order to keep this promise ~_^
At the beginning of August I decided to open up a new forum section for Episode Discussion, you can find a link to it in Interactive. As there are over 150 odd episodes, and there's four pages of these despite only being a third of the way through making them, I figured it would be better to add direct links on the episodes. Lets imagine you read the episode Disconnected and you had to ask something about it, point out an error, post a good or bad review etc.. you click the link where it says "discuss the episode here" at the bottom of the episode. After the topic is loaded, which wont take long, either click the "reply" button or scroll to the button where it says "quick reply box" and type your comment there. You don't have to have a username to do so. Note spam will be immediately deleted and "this ep was crap" "ep was brill!!11" comments probably will be too, I know that's harsh but writers thrive on feedback, and that's not feedback. If you like the episode but have nothing to say click on that button above the discuss bit labelled "vote for '(episode title)'", if you don't then leave it. ^_^ Anyway for now there's only a good few episodes with these topics, other episodes will get the treatment soon. Available threads are available for: all of Season One, the first movie, Season Two episodes 1 - 11, Wrong Direction, Death Corridor's link will be available when the second half is, and all of B4FV Season Three so far. That is all on that subject.
Anybody who voted in the The 'Cupid Has Gone On Vacation' Award category in the FV Awards please go and vote again. Every vote was being counted as Chakotay/Seven.. obviously I hadn't finished editing the form. If you just voted for those two anyway, please do vote again.. I need to know how many voted for them. Ok just checked my results, the form must of been working at some point as other votes were counted, very confused. Ok again, please vote for a second time. There was only one accurate vote for three "couples" that I received, if you voted please do so for the same couples you did last time, that way I'll get the correct results. Thanks.

August 2005
Whew,
it's taken longer than I thought to recover from my holiday that I
got back from over a two weeks ago. First things first, Death
Corridor.. I'm almost done with that so I've just released the first
half. I hope you like it, it is pretty packed full of stuff that
should of been put into Wrong Direction. Silly me thought Wrong
Direction would be long enough without the continuation of three of
it's plots; James/Jessie's recovery of the aftermath of Season Four
(I'll put it anyway I want so there ^_^, it's ok there was only a
little bit left that could fit in Wrong Direction's
"storyline"), Damien and Ylara's meeting etc, and the
Daniel/Craig/Scott (Triah/Daniel's kid if you've forgotten) um stuff.
Sorry I'm vague, I don't want to ruin Death Corridor for you lol.
Second of all, Deck Thirteen was the first episode to be tackled when I got back. I thought as it was a slow/steady episode already, with a scene getting completed every now and then, and I was like that for the first few days after I got back, it would be the ideal episode to do first ^_^ That idea paid off so finally after nearly four months, the second half is up. I hope it's worth it.
Last of all, some bad news. I found the rest of my mail and I got The Rhythm. The third file was like the one I had, messed up. The second file is fine, however as expected there are loads of typos that I didn't check through. After a few thorough read through's, the second file is online and I'm in the process of re-writing the third file. Fingers crossed that I'll improve it as I wasn't entirely impressed with The Rhythm, don't know about you but I thought it wasn't my best. It's not a total loss though, I have bits of the third file in the recap of "It's Your Duty" plus I kept the detailed plot just in case re-writing the episode was the last option. Some of the songs however I'll need to dig out, some are on The Buzz but the rest will be hidden somewhere ^_^
Oh well never mind, we're still better off than we were before, except that I have more work to do lol. Now onto the next and last bit of news. As I'm working on a few episodes at once, well I was during the holidays I've got a new plan for August & September releases. We all know how well these go so I'm going to keep quiet(er) about how it's going to go, just in case it doesn't work out. Lets just say I've got lots of treats from both seasons that have already had a lot of work done on them already, and I'm confident you'll see them very soon. Oh don't forget to check out the new poll in the "Polls" section, I need your opinions on it.

July 2005
Hey
guys, I've got good news, a little bad news and a general
observation for you today. Most importantly I have two finished
episodes; Wrong Direction and the fixed version of In The Eye. I only
noticed that recently, sorry about that.. the night I uploaded that
was the same night I uploaded the new design and I was in a bit of a
hurry. Just remember if you see any problems with any of the pages,
let me know here. I wont email you back unless you're asking a
question and supply an email address, so don't worry. You'll find
that link in the Interactive menu so don't forget. It helps you and
me out so don't be afraid to use it, it's only been used a few times.
Anyway next up for fixing is The Rhythm, which is already ten months
old now *cringes*. I do want this sorted before I go away on the 8th
to see my sister ^_^ Vulpix sent her copy of The Rhythm to me on
Wednesday supposably by post on CD-R so it should be waiting for me
when I get back home (unless the mail's early on Friday). Don't ask
why she wont upload it herself, when I did I got a lot of grief about
broadband setup, money, and computer issues.. sigh. If she's sorted,
she can to do it.
Ok firstly, general observation. B4FV Season Three is almost half way through and it's premiere is a year old on the 31st August, I know it took a while before the second episode came about because of Season Four but it's still not good at all. Also there's only been 11 episode releases this year and we've passed the halfway mark. I'm going to go back to an old news "article" I made about this, and repeat it. I know this place doesn't have many visitors, there's probably just a handful of actual readers and I probably lost some during the months it took to write "Closing of the Eyes" and "Burnt out and Falling". I can't explain it too well so I'm actually re-direct you to the article mentioned that was written 16th March, here.
Secondly the bad news. I'll be away for two weeks visiting my sister in Tenerife.. if it makes you feel better I've had lots of panic attacks as it's cost a bomb and I'll be broke by the time I come back. The good part about that is that there's barely anything to do on the days where you sit around the pool, so I write a lot. True it's on paper but at least if the episode is mostly all done or is done then typing it up wont take long. Other bad news is I'm still stuck on Deck Thirteen, so that'll have to wait until I return *hits self a few times* ow.
Last but not least, good news. As soon as I receive a working copy of The Rhythm and Deck Thirteen's done, I'm finally free of worry about broken/uncompleted episodes and I can do brand new ones with no hassle. It was nice when I just decided to "forget about" the two unfinished and broken one and write the latest B4FV episodes, I imagine it would be even nicer if I didn't have to pretend. The next few Season Five episodes are real treats; Death Corridor has a lot of potential, Time About is going to be a fun time episode (yes another one, but without the serious theme), Outbreak might be a problem so I might move it later in the season, Responsibility and Programmable You go back to the Season Four style that seemed to be popular ^_^ B4FV has some treats coming up too including Home Sweet Holodeck, Mind Games, Phase In Time, Fantastical and two brand new episodes to replace two "oldies". These two were going to go into Season Five but I didn't have any empty slots for them in the end and they'd fit better in B4FV. All of these are on my list of episodes I can write while away, so I'm in for a treat too.
I apologise for the excessive amount of news here, but I had to get it all out of my system before getting back to work. Don't forget to check out that news article for March above, if you don't just remember.. writers thrive on feedback. I know I have at least three readers and they keep me going as I don't want to disappoint them. Just let me know if you enjoy an episode by clicking the box right at the bottom of it's file, that's all I ask really. It only takes a few seconds, and I don't get any other information from you other than somebody likes the ep. Right I'm going to shut up now lol, see you in two weeks.

I
was going to upload Yesteryear Part 3 & 4 on Wednesday but it
was one of the biggest episodes the series has so I had to delete
unnecessary stuff to make it smaller. Also like The Rhythm it wont
have a recap. Click the link in "Also Showing" to read,
some of Part 3 is in Part 2 now to even out the episode a little but
the link should take you straight to the newly released parts of the
ep. I told you this episode was long, didn't I?
The second half of Wrong Direction will be online as soon as I'm finished with it, but while I'm doing that that I'm taking a "break" for a week or so to get B4FV up do date; stop writing new episodes and finish off the last two parter Deck Thirteen. It's been left for a while like Yesteryear when I abandoned them to get into the latest episodes The Grove of H'Taria, The Coming of Time, then In The Eye.
Also I want to spare at least a day to fix The Rhythm.. it isn't an internet problem, there's actually a problem with it on the hard drive. I didn't notice until I tried to copy the contents into a different file and upload it to fanfiction.net recently (that was my final resort). I did give a copy of the episode to at least two friends via a CD yonks ago, so I'll see if theirs is intact before doing anything. I'll keep you posted. Anyway after all that's sorted, I'll work on the second episode of Season Five which should be much better than the first. Also I want one or two brand new B4FV episodes online before I visit my sister in July. Hopefully when I come back I'll have a few Season Five/B4FV episodes done on paper.

Because
this page is simply not good enough for their precious web ring
links, I have moved the web ring links back to the home page. I did
move them here because according to all the stats, everyone who got
here were just clicking next without even going into the site. I
really don't see the point, and no other web ring has moaned.
(sarcasm)It's not like I don't have anything else better to do than
to accommodate to their annoying needs(sarcasm ends). It looked a lot
better the way I had it all week ¬_¬

Hey
guys, I hope you like the new design. Today the Main Rounds for the
2005 Awards began, so cast your vote. Don't worry about voting in all
of them right now, the Main Round will be up until the site's fifth
birthday in December so take your time.
The biggest news of today is of course the premiere of Season Five, the final season. Anybody thinking "final season, about time", I question your presence on this site ^_^ I've still got B4FV Season Three in progress, but I did expect that to happen.
12th
June 2005
The
site's closed until I upload all the new files, it should reopen
Monday night.
Right now I'm working on the Season Five premiere. There's a new site design almost ready, and lots of other stuff is ready to go too. It's all going to be last minute obviously as a lot of stuff is still going on that needs finishing, but honestly two of those wont need anymore than a few hours each, and the rest is either a five minute or a half an hour job.
I am kinda nervous about this new design, this is the only attempt I've made at Version 2.. So this is the first time I've made a new design for the site and haven't dumped the first one cos I grew tired of it.

Another
update.. surprised? You should be. The next things to do that are on
my list is finish off Yesteryear and Deck Thirteen. I know they
should of been done before the last three episodes, but I was so sick
of having only one or two episodes released per month. Other things
on my list are Season Five's premiere and the next B4FV episode In
The Eye. Both have been thoroughly prepared in advance like today's
episode was, and that was released in record time (for this year
anyway ^_^).. Plus I'm determined to begin Season Five on my
birthday, which is the 13th June. Also on my list is having another
go at fixing The Rhythm, and making a start on the episodes after
Wrong Direction and In The Eye. I'll try to keep you up to date on
what's happening, until then enjoy the new episode.. I know I enjoyed
writing it.

May 2005
Surprise,
an update. Any readers who suffered a heart attack or anything
remember you cannot sue, I don't have much money and I have poor
means of distributing it anyway. Anyway this update I have for you is
two weeks later than I planned, so I decided to add a few more days
to it so I could include the next one. Check out the schedule for a
little more realistic idea of what to expect. I don't care how bad my
track record's been lately, Season Five will begin in June. Below is
the explanation I wrote last week for what's been keeping me. There's
a longer version somewhere on the forums.
It's been a slow unproductive two weeks. First week I didn't have much time to myself to get much done. Second week starting from Sunday my imagination's been playing tricks with me. You know when you see a horror film and it stays with you for a while, it's been one crappy week because of it. Typically the episode that replaces Frost Bite is a "parody" of it ^_^
18th
May 2005
Well
the curse of May hasn't died but compare this month to all the
others this year and what do you find? If you can't think of anything
don't worry, there's not much of a bloody difference.
I am working on an update that so far I'm doing quite well with, so fingers crossed. At the very least you'll get a new episode by the end of the week (see lookie, it's FV's new slogan: One brand new episode a month) ^_^
If all goes well *touches wood* I'll have a little surprise ready for the update as well.
Make sure you check out the new episode that'll appear either Friday night/Saturday morning or night/Sunday morning.. I promise you it will unless the site does it's usual May thing and nearly or actually go offline ¬_¬ I'm only not sure on the day because I haven't finished the rest of the update.
You'll find that the new episode is one of the longest single eps, which is probably why it took so long.. same with Yesteryear, I'm cursed to write long stories and take my time with them.
Anyway, I'll be back at the weekend for sure.. fingers crossed the May bad luck thing doesn't kick in then.

April 2005
Now
you may be wondering why things are still slowish, this is because
I've been spending my many writers blocks working on the new design
for the site. This one will be around up until June, and the new
design should appear on the same day as the Season Five premiere. I
really like the new design and I hope you do too, or that I don't end
up making a different one ^_^ Anyway the bit that takes the longest
has been done, so it shouldn't take up anymore time. I did have a
nice big update planned for today but it's not going to happen, some
really bad headaches have been plaguing me non stop since Wednesday
and I can't concentrate that well with them. I'm still trying
obviously but writing goes a lot slower like this. The "big"
update was though the second half's of the last two episodes, and Q
and the Grey.. I wanted them out of the way before May began but that
didn't happen. As the FV Awards Best Episode and Worst Episode
categories change on Tuesday I'm trying for then.
Of course from tomorrow the dreaded month May begins, and since it's my unlucky month I'm hoping that it's decided to let me off this year considering how bad this year's been ^_^ I do have a lot of plans for May, not as bad as last year luckily. For one thing I want to start working on Season Five's premiere and the next movie, so at the very least I've got a head start for once. Also there's a lot of good episodes coming up for B4FV I want doing before Season Five starts.
13th
April 2005
Hey
guys, I have two exclusives for you today: The first two parts of
the four parters Deck Thirteen and Yesteryear. I didn't have time to
finish the two in time for the update, I'm already a day late (a week
and a day for Deck 13). Don't worry about Yesteryear, you don't need
to have read the last parts to Deck Thirteen to get what's going on
in it.
I'll
try to finish them for next week's update. If I have time I'll try
and get Q and the Grey completed for then as well.
Reminder: The "Phase In Time" poll will be closing 19th April and at the moment I've got a tie. I did say that I'd take two of the options, instead of one depending on the amount of votes but it's a tie between three of them lol. At least I know one of them is out for sure ^_^ To the point, please help if you haven't voted already. Also Round Nine of the Best Episode category hasn't any voters like the last round (well I got two voters last minute, but I extended that to three weeks). Please vote or all of them will be reduced to the Worst Episode nomination round.

Ok,
I've been feeling a bit crap for the last few days. Of course this
is not an excuse for Deck Thirteen being late, it's the reason it's
later. I'm still feeling a bit off, but that hasn't stopped me
working, even just a little bit. To make up for the lateness of Deck
Thirteen, which I do want up asap as I kinda love it lol, I'm working
on Yesteryear as well. I'm going to try to get both up this Tuesday.
Q and the Grey already has a head start, and I'll release that on it's own next so fingers crossed for that parody, those nearly always go well (Death Wish for example).

Damn
Raichu for not doing enough for Silent Scream and making it sound
like she'd done most of it. I'm so sorry this is so late, I was busy
fixing Bring It On and writing Blood Oath when I finally received
what Raichu had done for Silent Scream. Before I received it I got
the impression she had done more than I said, but in fact she'd only
managed a few scenes. I did have a go, but sent it right back after a
week or two. I've just got the full version back now, luckily I've
had the rest of the update ready since the seventeenth.
A few weeks ago an update was prepared to show todays episodes I couldn't really upload the home page and other pages. I hope you all have been making use of the link below, if you did you would know that Bring It On's been fixed for two weeks, and there were a few other little updates added too.
25th
March 2005
Another
"Quick" News Bulletin: The update should be added soon,
for now please check out the below news and the above updates. Blood
Oath has been completed for a week, I'm just waiting for the rest of
Silent Scream to be finished off. The deadline for Round Eight of
Best Episode has been extended as there has been no votes, and no
notice on the site itself, only on the forums.
Other
news:
+
Upcoming episodes Deck Thirteen and Q and the Grey have been in the
works during the wait for Silent Scream.
+
Season Five's first episode has recently been looked at, the plan is
to start writing during May despite where B4FV Season Three is up to.
I'll make sure it gets released on the planned date which is 13th June.
+
As the final episode of B4FV and it's movie will be set in an
alternate reality, it can safely begin work during May also so when
it's finally time to release them, it will appear on time for once.
I'm mainly doing this so Season Five can go uninterrupted, more or
less. The previous two movies have caused hefty delays, I don't
really want that to happen again.
16th
March 2005
I
really have no idea how many of the visitors we get are people who
stick around to read, or in fact get as far as this page. All I've
got is the interactive stuff such as the awards, User Involvement and
my forum polls. Judging by how many votes and stuff I get lately, I'm
thinking not many. I know things have been slow lately, and because
of the wait during the releases of the last Season Four episodes we
probably lost a few readers. I know it's probably a lot to ask
considering, but if you do read the series please spend a minute at
least to vote in the polls section, nominate in one of the
categories, or have your say in the Phase In Time poll. If you do
read, and you enjoy an episode there's a little button at the bottom
you can click, that only takes a few seconds.
I must admit that the nominations have been going just as good as last time, but interest in the Best Episode category has been lost.. this is leaving too many episodes without votes and nominees for Worst Episode (that's a lot of work for me by the end of it, which'll delay episode writing). Also there is no interest in the latest User Involvement, it's the least important I know but it doesn't really make me feel good about the episode ^_^ If you like polls but hate going to the forums, there is a new one that's not on the forum.. please check it out. If you do like forums, don't hesitate about joining up and chatting with everyone. You wont be the only FV reader there so don't worry. Just a tiny little bit of support like how I mentioned, even just one is enough to help with the series itself. Any feedback gives the writer(s) the spirit to continue on.. with your help we can get Fifth Voyager back to the way it was. Rant / Whine, whatever you want to call it is now over ^_^

Thanks
to a anonymous reviewer on fanfiction.net I've noticed a huge
blooper in episodes like Crying, Dying and True Memories. This
mistake would of been avoided if I'd actually read through all of the
book Mosaic that's supposed to be canon for the series. The blooper
is that Janeway wasn't dating Justin at all when she got pregnant
with James, she was probably dating somebody called Cheb. Also I'm
sure I've got her at the Academy at seventeen, when that's an age
where they're still at school. Like I said, a big blooper which will
be fixed soon.

February 2005
Sorry
for the lateness of the so called 28th February update, the village
I live in had a black out for a few hours. Now, lets get straight
down to business.
I've just got word, Raichu's recently got writing inspiration so hopefully she's working on Silent Scream as we speak. I've nearly got one out of two episodes that were broken fixed. I have to apologise for taking more time than I thought, during breaks I caught up on other work: Slayer X's opening and The Buzz's new version. Go further down the page to have a look at both sites. Of course the blackout didn't help matters as the episode file I was fixing was left open and everything when it happened, and I lost what I had done >_<. In related news over the weekend I got my own writing inspiration during a road trip to Blackpool to drop my sister off, and I wrote most of Blood Oath. I know, I could of done more during the last few weeks, but I managed to catch a nasty cold for a week and a few days lol. Damn, I'll be glad when spring begins.. which is soon, right?
In other news the User Involvement poll for The Coming of Time has been removed a little late, all thanks to a damn tie between two of the choices. Thanks to our anonymous voter the other day, it's been resolved.. of course only him or her will know who will be the third candidate on our timeloop episode later in the season. Go and check out the new one, that one should be more interesting than the last two.

February 2005
Straight
to business. For the last week I've tried here and there to work on
Silent Scream. I've known ever since I created it that it would be a
b**ch to write. I haven't had been able to write it that easily. The
main plot however I could probably do fine but the stuff building up
with it, well I just can't get further than a plot lol. I can't
explain why, it's too hard to.
What I've decided to do is send a backup version of the file to Raichu as she's offered to help with it. She may as well do something, she is a writer after all. As The Rhythm and Bring It On are both broken (I was told about this a while ago and I've only just had the time to see how they are) and I really don't like the idea of continuing releasing B4FV episodes while they're broken, I'll work on fixing them while she writes it. I'll let you know when they are.
Related news: I'm still reeling from the news of yet another cancellation. damn American TV bosses really really suck as much as Sky One. Oh and another show got cancelled too, which I never watched but it was a shocking thing to hear about considering that it's a damn Trek series. Isn't it sacrilege to cancel a Trek series? The first show I mentioned was Tru Calling, my only source for Adult Duncan screenshots for Slayer X.. damn you Fox, I hate you people. Oh well, at least I got my Season One DVD box set in the same week. Oh and whoever decided that Reboot should end the way it did should be hit with over the head a tricorder. I'd apologise for all this ranting but think about it, wouldn't you be tiffed if the only series that still has new episodes and you watched was bloody Pokémon? I rest my case.
More related news: I have finally come up with a story arc for Slayer X's first and probably only season. That means that I can finally continue working on it's site, I'll let you know when it's online.

I
have to admit, I did expect Too Far Gone to take long as it wasn't
planned as much as the next lot of B4FV episodes. Well it's online
now, and I am hopefully going to start with weekly episode updates
now. Keep checking back.
31st
January 2005
It
doesn't look like I'm going to get another episode up in January.
I'm still trying to finish off Too Far Gone, but as it's an episode I
didn't work greatly on, unlike most of the season, it's hard to do.
Like I stated on the last news bit on the site, if I had of just
wrote the episode the Sunday a week ago, not yesterday, instead of
writing a hurried plot the episode probably would of been up last week.
I've just been extremely crappy lately, but it's really no excuse as I was basically fine that Sunday and had lots of ideas. Now I'm writing the episode using the plot I made while I didn't have a writers block or an annoying headache, and I had some enthusiasm >_< , this is why it's going slow. Like I said, I'll still try to get it up tonight.. if it's finished early morning I'm still classing it as a January episode.
29th
January 2005
Last
Sunday I was feeling better, but the rest of the week I was crappy
again. I did have a chance to do more work on Too Far Gone on the
Sunday, but I didn't.. I stupidly thought I had plenty of time.
Anyway I'm working on this episode now, so I'll get it up as soon as
it's finished.
23rd
January 2005
As
I haven't been feeling well for the past few days, I didn't get any
of "Too Far Gone" written. I am feeling a bit better today
so I'll have a go at writing it. The latest release date will be next Saturday.
18th January
2005
The
day has finally come, after over a year and a half Season Four ends!
The last episode of the finale has finally been uploaded. A lot of
that time was spent trying to complete episodes such as Happy Ever
After, Closing of the Eyes and Burnt out and Falling, re-writing at
least three episodes, and letting B4FV Season Two have a month to
itself in 2003, also don't forget it's second marathon that was a
disaster. It's not all bad though, B4FV Season One still holds the
record, by three days, all thanks to it's first episode, Caretaker.
I'm hoping that the entire season is worth it in the end, I sure
think so and I know at least two readers who would strongly agree
with me (that's excluding obsessed Vulpix ^_^). Anyway it's not too
bad, Season Four is the sixth season completed and we're into our
fifth year now.
Now that remains are two seasons, and two movies. Of course once I get into Season Five, we can finally start talking about Slayer X. How long have I been saying that it's coming soon, I can't keep track ^_^ I can't really start that until I get to a certain part in Season Five, as Slayer X (as it's based in FV's future) will spoil a few things if I start it before then. Back to the earlier point, B4FV Season Three is what the others and I are focusing on now. If it goes at a smooth and steady pace, Season Five can safely begin after it's finished. However if it goes as slow as Season Four, I'll have to think about starting it at the time I've planned already (June 2005), wether the prequel seasons are finished are not. I can see this being a disaster like last year when I planned to get Season Four rushed and finished back in May lol.. look how well that turned out.
Don't
worry, rest assured I'll get everything I planned online despite how
long it takes. We get there in the end.. that's what that matters.
Though I am hoping that I'll have more luck this year. Also I've
heard that Voyager was ten years old on the sixteenth, so happy
birthday Voyager ^_^
